Making pizza crust, an omelette or snack bread with garbanzo flour (which is just ground chickpeas) may sound time-consuming but all are actually quite effortless. Simply stir equal parts garbanzo flour (aka, chickpea flour) with water (or non-dairy milk) to create a thick creamy pancake-like batter. Mix the batter the night before or in the morning, scoop the foam off the top, stir, and add in recipe ingredients. 1 C garbanzo flour
1 C water
3 T olive oil
Pinch of dried oregano & thyme, salt & pepper
Pre-heat oven to 450F along with a well-oiled cast iron skillet or parchment-lined-oiled baking tray. When ready to bake, remove hot skillet or tray (using oven mitts), and pour batter into a thin round-ish shape. Bake crust for 15 minutes, remove before adding toppings. Chickpea Flour OmeletteMade with chickpea flour, water, turmeric, salt, pepper, garlic powder, nutritional yeast flakes and ground flax seed. Best cooked in a non-stick or very well-oiled skillet (very sticky batter) then flipped like a pancake. Once done, fold over into an omelette. We stir into the batter right before cooking: Pre-baked tempeh crumbles, minced roasted garlic and spinach adding vegan pepper jack shredded cheese at the end. Each side needs about 8 minutes to cook.
